casting into heavy slop from distance (30 ft. or so). Braid or heavy fluorocarbon. I have had problems in the past with wind knots while casting with braid, so I bought some 25 lb. fluoro. Is it practical to use fluoro in this situation. There is about a two inch thick mat of slop in the area I’ll be fishing.

I just tie a 2oz bomb about 6in from end of line then tie braid on. I know that’s not the right way.

IT can not be braid, I prefer flouracarbon but this is just my preference any knowledgeable people out there that can help me please.

I use an Abu Garcie Revo baitcaster and a Shimano Compre rod. I was looking at some “crystal” line the other day and it looked nice. I’m using 30# braided SpiderWire right now but the dye seems to come off it fast and I’m afraid the fish can see it.

Does braided fishing line deteriorate when it is used in slatwater?

I am pretty sure that I’m going to get 150 yds. of braided fishing line for Christmas and I was wondering how most people rig it. I fish off of my dock, off of drawbridges, and off of the boat in no deeper that 30ft. of water. Should I use a lot of weight? A leadhead jig? And how long should the leader line be, (I’m using 25lb monofilament). Thanks a bunch!

I want a reel for saltwater fishing, in a river off a pier. something that i can put 60-80lb braid on. What would you reccomend thats in the $120 price range?

I already have braided string rigged on two of my reels but I’m thinking on get a new combo rod for casting and lure fishing. What you advise me to get for line?
