I would try braiding it dry and yes you will have wavy hair. I used to have long hair and my mom would put two french braids, one on each side. I'd sleep overnight and in the morning it was wavy, almost like a sprial perm. Fishtail braids are tighter though I think, it might be more than just a wavy look when you took it out. Yes, it definitely makes it wavy. You have to make sure it dries completely, and possible even blow dry it. I have stick straight hair, very hard to curl...This works for me though!
