Fish generally don’t care about line color. It doesn’t change anything one way or the other. If a fish sees a bait it wants to bite, it will bite it regardless of seeing, or not seeing, a line.

so you can see it. the fish will and do shy away from that line…. tie a clear mono, florocarbon, or hybrid mono as your leader and the hook-up will increase

Visibility in fishing lines is for the benefit of the fisherman. Fish can be spooked by hi-vis lines. Yellow is a terrible color for fishing line – that’s a proven fact.
Try a line that is flourescent (Trilene XT for example). It remains highly visible above the surface so the fisherman can see it, but disappears below the surface so it’s invisible to the fish.

For some situations, I have each of my reels spooled with different color lines, just so I can tell what each line is doing (kite fishing is a good example, every line is color coded) this is for the benefit of the fisherman, not the fish. There will be a florocarbon leader (up to 15 or 20 ft) so the fish never see the line. Other situations, all my reels are spooled with the same line, it really depends on the situation and the method I am fishing.

It’s so that the fisherman can see the line. There are a lot of situations when the fisherman needs to be able to see the line. For example when fishing from a boat with other people to make sure that the line isn’t going to tangle with other anglers.
Tie at least 1 meter long leader of shock leader to the braid and attach whatever tackle you want to use to the shock leader. Braid is great, and really strong. It doesn’t stretch which is a good quality, but because it doesn’t stretch, it’s weak to sudden shock. If you tie hooks straight on to the braid and you get a hit from a fish like an amberjack, the line is going to snap. It also is easy to damage, so if it gets scraped along a rock, it will break easily.

High vis line is more for the fisherman rather than the fish. Fish do see the line and many are spooked by it but that’s why people use mono leaders or flourocarbon attached to the high vis line. The high vis stuff is used to allow an angler to know where the bait is, which way the fish is running and as stated, helps when a crowd is present. I guess you could say it’s more for people who have trouble seeing the line as well but that’s just speculation…get it? LOL.
High vis line doesn’t really affect fishing if the water is stained or muddy but in clear water it can have a big effect.This means less fish or none at all. Hope that helps ya. ~good luck catchin’.
