Hiya, let me try and explain it to you as simply as I can.
Right, you need two bunches. Hold each bunch in each hand.
Now take very little strand from the far end of one of the bunch and put it under the other bunch and visa versa.
Keep doing it and you will see the effect.
Always take the starnd from the far end from each bunch and put it under the other bunch.

Normally use three strands. Section the hair into three, Starting from the right, go in in this direction- right, middle, left. Repeat this as you go along. It’s quiet easy once you get the hang of it. Good luck. Remember prctise makes perfect, never give up.
you use three strands and rather than the traditional one strand over the middle etc you go under. its really striking when done french plait style from tip of head back but it hurts like hell coz you have to pull the hair really tight
