<3,
This is a very broad question. It would better for you to put it in a price range like this ~ $50-$120 than to just say anything under $120. Maybe if i recommended a $40 reel, you wouldn't like it. Add a little more detail to this question and i could give you a very informative answer. In the mean time, here's a BIG OLE list of large round bait casting reels costing under $120 ~
($109-$119) Shimano Cardiff ~ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores…
($84-$94) Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 Classic ~ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores…
($89-$99) Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C4 Classic ~ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores…
($69) Bass Pro Shops Pete Maina Signature Series Muskie reel ~ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores… reel is on Clearance)
($59-$64) Abu Garcia BCX ~ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores…
($29) Bass Pro Shops Megacast ~ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores…
Pretty much any round bait casting reel will be fine.
60 to 80 lb braid??? Totally Ridiculous. You only need 8 lb. test line to catch the biggest swordfish in the ocean, if you know anything at all about playing a fish.
60 to 80 lb. braid would be suitable for catching nuclear submarines but the season is closed until further notice.
As for 120 dollars, you might find a used one, but new ones; hardly likely.
I suggest you talk to some real fishermen for better advice.
Kind Regards.
For what you’re looking for, I would recommend either a Shimano Charter Special, Speedmaster or a TLD Series or a Penn Level Wind, Senator or International. These are all excellent saltwater reels.
Vist The Reel Shack for great deals on these reels and more.
