Any of your larger fly shops, epecially those that focus on saltwater, will have a decent selection of running lines. You can choose between pvc coated running lines, straight mono, or braided. If you’re trying to watch your dollars, Cortland offers spools of braided mono in 20, 30, and 50lb strengths. It’s slick, but keep it away from your fingers when tackling strong running fish, and watch your guides for wear. Use good knots/connections…or risk losing your shooting head.
edit: don’t listen to anyone that recommends spiderwire for shooting line. and don’t go to bps if you need anything ff related.

Go on Dan Blanton’s forum and check out discussions with fellows who know their stuff. You will find that most do not like braided shooting lines. They persuaded me to try the Sufix mono filament in 30 pound size. It still snarls but not as bad as most mono. Given that most shooting heads will fail at 25 pounds or less, there is little need to go to 50 pound shooting line.
Check out the integrated head running line systems from Rio and Jim Teeny. I have not tried salt water lines, but have heard some complimentary reviews from others. Prices are a bit scary, but salt water guides tell me they are worth the cost.http://www.danblanton.com/bulletin.php
