Where Is The Best Fishing From The Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia?
Since it’s a reef area it may be protected and we may have to travel too far out to fish. Is it possible to fish offshore at the whitsundays or should we go further north in July??

You can fish! If you don’t want to go by yourself, there are heaps of cruises and fishing trips which operate in the Whitsundays. Try some of these websites:http://www.sailing-whitsundays.com/produ…http://www.fishingwhitsundays.com.au/
If you so plan to go it alone, make sure you are aware of the restrictions that are in place. These are outlined in these website:http://www.sailingwhitsundays.com/island…http://www.boatingoz.com.au/fishingwhit.…
Yeah u can fish there and its AWESOME! I went up there for xmas 2 years ago and there was great fishing at Dingo Beach (in between Airlie Beach and Bowen) we caught 7 different reef fish in 2 hrs and a massive coral trout. You can camp on Ghloshter Island for free too u can get there if u have a tinny (leave from dingo beach takes 30mins by boat) and u will have the whole island to yourself if u dont go during holidays but watch the snakes. I went from Gold Coast to Tpwnsville and that was the best spot by far. Funny thing is not that many locals go fishing up there so plenty of fish around. Be warned though u will hate fishing down south after u go – I am now so sick of catching bream, whitting and flathead!. Also up north, Gove was a great place to go sea fishing but be aware of the tides as they are really extreme. Happy Fishin!
