I would be using a .55 to.60 mm monofilament as well as braided line of same diameter for casting in big and wide rivers from the river banks. I would like a long cast multipurpose rod of not more than 8′2″ in length(the shorter the beter). Something that can cast all shorts of lures and baits and to be used for varous fishing techniques.
I’m fishing for largemouth bass I was wondering if 65 lb Sufix braided line was to much and what mono line it was compared to (in thickness)
Ok I have always used mono, never tried flourocarbon, and do not like braid. I was wondering if I should use fluorocarbon instead or stick with mono and what mono is the best to use??? Thanks
What is the best braided line you can use to fish for anything from pan fish to Musky?
I am looking for a nice Spiderwire line and i want to know whats the best mono, stealth, or braid for my spincast reel and whats the limit
There’s many different versions on the market and its really down to matter of personal preference, i for example like to use Berkley Fireline, however i know a guy who will use nothing but power pro, which i prefer for saltwater fishing, so you see my point. When i cant get fireline, i use stren mircofuse, also you may want to try spider wire, i know some people who really like to use it but i personally dislike the line, give them all a go and see which suits your style of casting and fishing besthttp://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa…
I am highly new to using a baitcasting reel. I have a Quantum Burst 6.3.1 gear ratio reel. And a quantum medium-heavy rod. What line should i use for less birdsnests? Mono or braided what gets tangles less? What helps in less line lossed dude to the teeth in the Northern pike?
I prefer Suffix brand, usually 8lb test in the smoke color on my spinning rig. On my baitcaster I have performance braid in 30lb test in green. I need details, not just a name. I am curious to find what the group favorite is. And if you use cheap line like store brand, don’t bother answering this.
Mono & braid are both good for fishing a jig. I don’t use braid because it has the visibility of a light bulb in a dark room. I would stick with an abrasion resistant mono. I would use 10-12 lb. for light cover jig fishing, and 14-20 lb. for the heavy cover (where the big boys stay).
May i also say, i have had great luck with a “Bass Pro Shops Pro Enticer Football Jig” with a “Berkley 3″ or 4″ Chigger Craw” trailer. My all time favorite jig color is PB & J (Peanut Butter & Jelly.). For the jig, i like both the 1/2 & 1/4 oz. sizes. For the 1/2 oz. PB & J jig, i use a 4″ Berkley Chigger Craw in pumpkin green. For the 1/4 oz. PB & J jig, i use a 3″ Berkley Chigger Craw in pumpkin green.
Happy fishing.
IT can not be braid, I prefer flouracarbon but this is just my preference any knowledgeable people out there that can help me please.
