I use an Abu Garcie Revo baitcaster and a Shimano Compre rod. I was looking at some “crystal” line the other day and it looked nice. I’m using 30# braided SpiderWire right now but the dye seems to come off it fast and I’m afraid the fish can see it.

What is the best braided fishing line? I fish for bass and pike mostly, but the girlfriend likes to fish for catfish. So, a line that would be optimal for these fish? I dont really care for spiderline. Do you guys like stren Superbraid, Fireline?
I have become rather fond of using braided fishing line, but have found it rather difficult to achieve a clean cut extra line. The line seems to fray before cutting, anyone have any recommendations??
I am headed to Myrtle Beach for just a couple days… I am a freshwater fisherman but would really like to do some surf fishing while there. Normally I would want to target a certain type of fish but since my stay will be so short, I just want to catch some, any kind, of fish. What are my best odds?
Since it’s a reef area it may be protected and we may have to travel too far out to fish. Is it possible to fish offshore at the whitsundays or should we go further north in July??
I’m going Pike fishing in the dead stream between Houghton lake, MI and 127. It has murkey waters, with channels about 6-8 ft deep x 20 ft across, running through a flood plain thats almost always has about 2 ft of water in it. What is the best lure or live bait to use? What part of the channel should I fish in? Any tips or tricks? Ive only reeled one pike out of here before, and I took it with a pike minnow. I mostly just wind up with bass or dog fish on my line.
