i know how to do a normal braid but not this one…

Can anyone explain how to do a fish braid on someone who has long hair. Or even better do you know where they have a video demonstraiting it.

If i’m going to fish with like 20 lb braid, do i need to get a special reel? or will my shimano be fine?

I’m looking to buy a Daiwa Sealine-X SHA30. The reel is rated for 25 lb mono at 235 yds, I believe. If I put 30 lb, braid on it, will that stress the reel? Thanks.

If you know how to do a French Braid it is exactly the opposite. Weave under instead of over.

I think it looks great but i don’t get how to do it. Does anyone care to share how to make it work….especially on kids?

This is my challenge for tonight! lol!
Put your hair in a high pony. Take half of the hair in one hand and half in the other. Using your index finger and thumb, take a small section of hair from the back of the left section and pull it around the front of that section and behind the other section. Then switch sides and do the same thing. The whole time as you are braiding you know to hold on to the hair with the hands and finger and thumb, all at the same time. On this side however you will have to make sure that the first side doesn’t slip out and you have to kinda tuck it behind and pull to tighten it. As you are going down the hair make sure you occasionally look at what the hair is doing and if the sections look uniform in size. As you are making the fishtale you will see that the upper part is fatter than the lower part. This takes good finger dexterity and patience.
