I Need Some Help Fishing In The North Carolina Inter-coastal Waterway.?

Ok here is the deal, I go fishing about two times a month with my dad. We stay at a campground just above ocean isle beach and launch his boat into the intercoastal waterway to. In reality all we are doing is going on a boat ride because we hardly ever catch anything. I’m not really looking for any specific type of fish however I would like information from anyone that has any type of help to offer. We usually fish the area between holden beach and the ocean isle bridge. I would like to know what kind of rig(weight size, hook type and size also) to use, what type of bait, for different fish. I feel like I’ve wasted my money I recently bought about 150$$$ worth of tackle included all of the following:
8lb power_pro braided line
20lb Seaguar flourocarbon leader
an inshore soft plastics kit from bass pro
a speck trout and redfish soft plasics kit
and a d.o.a. shrimp soft plastics kit with dvd
Please Help a frustrated Novice fisherman.

I am going to martham pits (maybe you know it)
Well i have a:
Carp rod with 2.5 test curve
Real with 15LB line
ready made hair rig (size 6 hook 12LB sink braid)
Surface carper float
Size 12 carp pellet hooks
12MM pellets Pre drilled
red boilies
1MM lead clip rigs
2lb weight
What sort of rig can u make with this you don’t have to use it all this rig is for a starter carper

What Type Of Ice Fishing Gear Do You Need?

What is all the necessary equipment for ice fishing besides the Rod and Reel? Why do people have the portable heaters and point it towards the ice hole, is this so the water doesn’t freeze. I just bought a Ice fishing Rod and was wondering can i use my Shimano Symetre 2500FI with 10lb braided test for ice fishing or do i need something smaller with a lower test.
Also if you do not have a depth finder how do you no how deep your fishing when ice fishing also what type of baits work for ice fishing. Live or Fake? Are Crappie minnows with a jig good?
Also I do not want to spend money and carrying a heavy Motorized Ice Auger so do those cheaper Hand Ice Auger work effectively. There are also different sizes for these Hand Augers what size is good?

Mono Fishing Line: I Need A True Mono Line With A Diameter Of Less Than .012 That Is Very Strong.. Help?

I have tried several and do not care much for co polymer lines, or braid, or flourcarbon, I just need some thin, strong mono line, all the ones I have tried with a diameter less than .012 are weak, I pay attention only to diamater and not the lb rating as this seems to work best. Most lines lb ratings seem either too high or low. Ande’s mono is very good but too thick for me in the lower lb class. Some have been very weak have found nothing from pure fishing & shakespeare comes close with cajun line, but not good enough.

If i’m going to fish with like 20 lb braid, do i need to get a special reel? or will my shimano be fine?
