Right now I am using 8lb fluorocarbon, and I am having success, but I really don’t like the feel of it as far as casting and sensitivity. It feels like it stretches out and gets weaker when I’m yanking out a snag, etc. I like the fact that the fish can’t see it though.. I’m thinking about switching to a thin braid or maybe one of those superlines??? What about that fireline crystal stuff, it always catches my eye at the store, but I haven’t tried it.
I need a baitcaster combo. I am fishing for perch smallmouth and largemouth. What action should i get? And how long should my rod be? Also what pound test braid should i get to catch those fish? for under 60 dollars
I just bought an 11″ Diawa Rod w/ a Penn Sargus Reel–50lb PowerPro/250 yards. I want to be able to switch rigs or lures quickly. Should I just tie the braid directly to a swivel, and attach my rigs using snap swivels? Should I have some mono connected to the braid first? Is any kind of “shock leader” required? I’ll be fishing for stripers off the surf. Thanks
What is the difference in using a specially made fluorocarbon leader line vs. using a regular fluorocarbon line?
When I’m spin-cast fishing I almost exclusively use spoons or spinners, attached to a fluorocarbon leader off of braided line. Since I use braided lines I am not too concerned with line twists, and I could replace the leader easily. Would attaching a spoon or inline spinner directly to the line instead of attaching it to snap swivel give the lures more action, or should I just keep using snap swivels?
What pound test should I use when fishing for sharks at night in the Gulf of Mexico? Should I use braided line? How do you rig up for shark fishing?

I have a Quantum Code bait casting reel on a 7 foot rod. I will use this reel for freshwater largemouth bass fishing (topwater, and crank baits) I was wondering which line I should use?
Either 1) Monofilament
2) Fluorocarbon
3) Braid
And if you would, please recommend the brand of the line you’d choose. Thanks.
