I would like a long cast multipurpose rod of not more than 8′2″ in length(the shorter the beter). Something that can cast all shorts of lures and baits and to be used for varous fishing techniques.

Now that Kevlar-lines are a reality, most of my fishing poles are spooled with either Berkley 4/10 or Stren Super Braid. (I don’t mid-deep water “crank” or “top-water” with braid.) I have never had an issue with these lines other than if they got “hung-up” and I had to cut the line.
Am I taking crazy pills? Why would anyone NOT want to fish with braid,(other than trolling, deep-cranking, & topwater)? Heck, I’ve even made fly-fishing “tippet’s” with B. Fireline that work GREAT!
I’m surprised the “mono” company’s have even managed to stay OPEN!
So, If you could ONLY fish with 1 type of line what LB would it be? And would you choose Braid or Mono?
